Passion for Jesus

  1. Salvation/Baptism - Salvation is of primary importance to WDM Open Bible Church.  Not only is it every believer's first step in their walk with Jesus, but it is also the most important decision a person will make (Romans 10:9, John 2:1-21).  The first concern we have for anyone who walks through our door is that they are saved.  Following salvation, the Bible commands that every believer be baptized (Mark 16:16).
  2. Friendship Group - Connecting with other believers is commanded in the scriptures.  Learning and growing together in the pursuit of God is vital to developing passion for Jesus; in fact in the New Testament, Jesus and his 12 disciples were the first small group.
  3. Church membership (attendance, tithes, fellowship) - Becoming a member if WDM Open Bible Church means that you are joining a family.  We welcome every person, no matter their past, to join our loving and imperfect family.  The Bible teaches that gathering together, giving regularly, and fellowship is necessary for every person in Christ (Heb. 10:25, Heb. 13:16, 1 Cor. 12:27, Mal. 3:10-12).
  4. Prayer/Intersession, Worship, and Bible Devotion - these three are fundamental in developing passion for Jesus.  In Philippians 4:6, Paul says to "pray about everything".  At WDM Open Bible Church Prayer and  Intimacy with Jesus is at the center of passion for Him.  Intercession is simply praying for others, instead of exclusively praying about one's personal needs.  We believe that we were created to worship God passionately (John 4:23) as we look to heavens example of the ultimate exhalation of the Almighty God (Rev. 4:11).  We believe that the bible is "God breathed", God inspired", and that it contains the instructions from God to every person for life.
  5. Loving God whole heartedly - Previous shortcomings do not have to hold you back; you can grow with passion for Jesus.  We believe that the Holy Spirit's primary focus is to help each person grow in the first and greatest commandment which Jesus said was to "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength" (Luke 10:27).  It is only from this place that we can love others.

Passion for People

  1. A Longing to Serve - Every believer is called to server (Gal. 5:13, Matt. 23:11).  As we grow in our love for God, we naturally should grow in out love for others.  We serve God by serving people.
  2. Growing in Spiritual Gifts - We believe that Spiritual gifts are given to every believer for the edification of the church.  We believe that every believer has been given gifts to help strengthen other believers (Rom. 12, 1 Pet. 4, 1 Cor. 12, Eph.4).  Let us help you find your gift and grow in it.
  3. Participation in church outreaches - We desire to train and equip ordinary people to go and do amazing things in the name of Jesus, so that the recipients of our outreaches experience God's love in a tangible way.
  4. Servant Leadership - We want team players who support WDM Open Bible Churches vision, leadership, and policies.  It is now time for you to lead other church members in friendship groups, ministries, and outreaches (Mark 10:42-45).
  5. Evangelism outside of church congregation - As your heart is set ablaze for Jesus and you develop as a servant and a leader, we long to see you minister to others outside of church functions.  Although we grow in church ministry we are not simply bound to church functions.  God may want to use you to be equipped, open, and ready to minister whenever the Lord calls.

Our Mission is to: "Love Christ, advance His Kingdom and to love and equip His people"
